What is the Insulate Tipp Scheme?

The Insulate Tipp Scheme (formerly Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme) provides house insulation grants and a stove to homeowners in Tipperary. It is run by Tipperary Energy Agency and is co-funded under the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s Better Energy Communities Program and Electric Ireland. This scheme has limited availability for homes in County Tipperary.

Who is Eligible for the  Scheme?

Homeowners who are in receipt of any of the following can avail of one of the below 3 options of the scheme.

• Fuel Allowance as part of the National Fuel Scheme
• Job Seekers Allowance for over six months and has children under 7 years of age
• Family Income Supplement (FIS)
• One Parent Family Payment

Homeowners who are in receipt of the supplements mentioned can avail of one of the following;

1. Cavity Wall Construction Package with a Stove

• Attic Insulation
• Cavity Wall Insulation
• Ventilation
• Draught Proofing
• Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
• Supply of an Energy Monitor
• BER Certificate
• Stove with a Flue Liner

The cost of this package is;

• €295 for a house up to 120m2
• €495 for houses between 120m2 to 160m2

 

2. External Wall Construction Package with a Stove

• Attic Insulation
• External Wall Insulation
• Ventilation
• Draught Proofing
• Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
• Supply of an Energy Monitor
• BER Certificate
• Stove with a Flue Liner

The cost of this package is;

• €2200 for houses up to 120m2
• €3400 for houses between 120m2 to 140m2

 

3. Stove Only

• Please note this option is only available to homeowners who have availed of the insulation works under the 2014 or 2015 Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme. Proof of BER number is required.
• The cost of this is €450

Homeowners who are not in receipt of supplements can avail of the following:

1. Cavity Wall Construction with a Stove

• Attic Insulation
• Cavity Wall Insulation
• Ventilation
• Draught Proofing
• Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
• Supply of an Energy Monitor
• BER Certificate
• Stove with a Flue Liner

The cost of this package is;

• €2150 for a house up to 120m2
• €2700 for houses between 120m2 to 160m2

 

2. Stove Only

• Please note this option is only available to homeowners who have availed of the insulation works under the 2014 or 2015 Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme. Proof of BER number is required.
• The cost of this is €1000.

Please Note: 

Inclusion in the programme is subject to the completion of a house suitability survey.

Houses larger than those mentioned above can avail of the scheme but prices will be quoted on application.
