Services InvolvedCommunity Energy,
We have teamed up with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to provide a series of interactive, hands-on workshops for primary schools pupils to increase their understanding of climate change and energy efficiency. Workshops are available free of charge and we will travel to your school. There are 2 workshops available :
- The Guzzler Investigate Energy Workshop is aimed at Seniors Infants, 1st and 2nd class. During the workshop the children can play various fun games, with a special guest appearance from Guzzler, the ultimate energy waster. The class will learn about energy, how we use it and what can be done to conserve it. The workshop lasts about 45 mins
- The Energy Challenge Workshop is for the older classes, 3rd to 6th class. Following a short talk about energy the class will get to play the Energy game, collecting as many points as possible to try and avoid the dreaded Sin Bin! They will also carry out energy experiments under adult supervision. It is a chance for the group to learn about energy, the different type of energies, how we use them and why we should conserve energy. This workshop last about 1h15.
More information on the workshop and energy for primary schools is available on the SEAI website
