Our CEO Paul Kenny has been named one of ’20 influencers who will shape our response to climate change’.
A champion of new technologies and renewables, Kenny was involved in developing Ireland’s first community-owned wind farm at Templederry and is also involved in retrofitting homes, upgrading heating systems in local authority facilities including swimming pools, replacing public lighting and working with community groups.
Kenny is pushing for local energy projects to be developed across the country, where power is generated and used in the community, with any excess sold on to the national grid. The agency was heavily involved in a major project to install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels across nine Tipperary County Council buildings, which will reduce energy demand by 11pc.
