Just Transition – Boost for Home Retrofits and Jobs in the Midlands Region

Tipperary Energy Agency has been announced as one of the successful applicants in the provisional offers of funding made under the Just Transition Fund. A provisional offer of over €600,000was announced by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications recently.
One Stop Shop
This funding will support the establishment of a regional ‘One Stop Shop’ to deliver hundreds of domestic retrofits in the region. This new regional hub will directly employ new engineering, customer service and sales teams servicing the entire Midlands Region. The hub will engage with homeowners locally to apply for grants to retrofit their homes and will offer a trusted and independent retrofit solution. The hub will also mobilise regional contractors to carry out the works.

‘Tipperary Energy Agency is delighted to contribute to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Midlands region by delivering home retrofits via SuperHomes. Since 2015 we have successfully completed over 300 retrofits of homes all over Ireland to a high standard. We will be growing our experienced retrofit engineering team who will be working on these midlands homes to create a once in a lifetime whole house retrofit. By increasing retrofits, the renovation wave will create more efficient homes for people at risk of energy poverty — meaning lower energy bills and warmer comfortable homes while moving away from burning fossil fuels‘.
Homeowners in the region can apply now for up to 35% funding to retrofit their homes on www.superhomes.ie. Places are limited and homeowners who are interested in applying are advised to get their application in early. A completed SuperHome will enjoy an energy rating of B2 or above and typically includes an air to water heatpump, advanced ventilation, insulation and options for triple glazed windows, high efficiency wood burning stoves and electricity generation with solar PV.
