CATALYST brings POWER-E-COM training, tools and SEC resources together in one place
Irish Sustainable Energy Communities and Renewable Energy Communities can access POWER-E-COM training, practical guidance and project learning through CATALYST, the project’s dedicated one-stop resource platform.
Developed through the Irish POWER-E-COM partnership of Tipperary Energy Agency (TEA), Community Power and Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), CATALYST is designed to make community energy development easier to navigate.
The platform brings together training materials, technical support, terminology, community examples, events and practical resources. It is intended for communities at different stages, from groups beginning to explore renewable generation through to established SECs trying to understand planning, grid, finance, governance or delivery requirements.
CATALYST also captures lessons from the Irish POWER-E-COM pilots in Kilcock, Sligo, Claremorris, Barnaderg/Tuam and Sustainable Energy West – Naomh. These projects show that there is no single route to community energy. Each community has different land, grid, finance and governance conditions and needs a pathway that reflects its own circumstances.
By keeping the project’s training and tools accessible beyond individual workshops and events, CATALYST provides a practical legacy for future community energy development in Ireland.
The platform is available through the TEA website alongside further information on the Irish POWER-E-COM work.
POWER-E-COM is a LIFE Programme project co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement 101120998. |
