Community Engagement

This 2.5-hour interactive workshop is designed for communities, the general public, and stakeholder groups to drive renewable energy transition, climate action and leadership through storytelling and emotions. Participants explore three future climate scenarios:

  1. Positive –  Energy Communities (ECs) producing 500 MW of energy by 2030, support from local authorities and agencies, enabling environment, communities are able to access grants and funding, good competition in the electricity market
  2. Business as Usual – Same state of affairs, 1 operating EC, ECs not able to access grants and funding, challenges are not addressed – business as usual
  3. Negative – ECs face an increased number of challenges, new limiting terms and conditions, no support from public bodies, communities feel demotivated to carry on and make progress – negative scenario.

Participants engage in role-playing and storytelling, using emotions like fear, anxiety, hope, apathy and regret that drives the upsa and downs for ECs, to craft compelling narratives that inspire and motivate ECs to navigate the various challenges thrown their way. The workshop will end with sharing the stories they developed.

This workshop fosters motivation, behavioural change, and a sense of communal responsibility. It is a powerful climate communication tool, adaptable for organizations, communities, and youth groups.
