ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Siona Daly
Siona Daly is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Certified Energy Manager. Her main areas of expertise are in Local Authority and Public Sector Energy Management, Energy Services Business Development and Operational Management of the Non-Residential team. Siona has extensive experience in energy engineering in projects related to HVAC, Automation, Building Management Systems, Mechanical Services Projects, Lighting projects and Energy Performance Contracting in North America and Ireland. Siona is also a Registered Energy Auditor with SEAI.
Declan Daly has an Honours Degree in Sustainable Energy Technology B.Eng and a Diploma in Construction Management. His area of responsibilities are project management of SuperHomes “one stop shop” deep retrofit scheme implementing energy upgrades on domestic buildings. This includes carrying out energy site audits, procurement of energy projects, designing and sizing M&E, contract negotiation, and directing work according to the scheduling methodology for the retrofit program. Declan has worked on the design, procurement and project management of a deep retrofit of 260 dwellings across Ireland.
John Hassett has 12 years’ experience in the building services industry. He has extensive experience in building services design and project management, building performance & the built environment, maintenance and compliance and building & plant modernisation. He also has considerable experience working in existing builds, upgrading existing building services systems to improve performance outcomes. John leads the building services and energy engineers in the Non-Residential team who provide detailed technical services to the non-residential and commercial sector for renovating and new build M&E services. He has completed projects in a broad range of industry sectors and has gained an in-depth knowledge of the regulated industry and associated standards.
John Hayes has 12 years building services industry experience. He started with the Agency in 2019, after returning from Perth Western Australia, where he spent 8 years working for a HVAC contractor as a Project Manager. John has extensive experience in design, value engineering and project management of HVAC systems for projects in the commercial, health care and education sectors. As a Senior Building Services Engineer within the non-residential team, he is involved in the design and delivery of M&E projects within the company.
Jimmy Coughlan holds an Honours Degree in Construction Management and a Post Grad in NZEB Design. He is a member of Engineers Ireland and has over 10 years’ experience working as a Project Engineer on various Civil, Building & Energy Retrofit projects. His areas of expertise include building services energy efficient design, sustainable energy systems design, tendering & project management. Jimmy is currently working on various energy efficient retrofit projects.
Colm Ó hÁonghusa joined the Tipperary Energy Agency in October 2019. On graduating from UCD in 1975 with an honours degree in Civil Engineering, Colm worked in England, Canada and Ireland on engineering projects. He then had a twenty year career in capital markets finance. More recently, Colm has worked as an energy consultant in the domestic, SME and commercial sectors. Colm’s main responsibilities at the Agency are energy auditing and monitoring and reporting on local authority energy consumption. Colm is a chartered engineer, chartered accountant, certified energy manager and is also a qualified Certified Measurement & Verification Professional. He holds a MBA from TCD and a diploma in renewable energy from the University of Ulster. As a member of Engineers Ireland, he has volunteered with the Steps to Engineering initiative in National schools for many years.
Enda McGovern joined the agency in 2012 and holds a B.Eng. in Automation & Control and a B.Sc. in Sustainable Energy Management. The majority of his work with the agency is focused on energy efficiency in the area of Water and Waste Water Treatment. His responsibilities include Energy Auditing, Project Implementation, Project Performance Evaluation and Monitoring and Reporting.
Catherine joined the Agency in May 2013 as the Marketing & Communications Manager. Catherine manages the agency’s busy events and training schedule. She is responsible for all aspects of marketing including PR, social media, digital marketing and the agency’s websites. Catherine also acts as the marketing manager for SuperHomes Ireland. SuperHomes is a groundbreaking project designed to being homes to an A BER rating. More recently, Catherine has worked with Tipperary County Council to organise the hugely successful Energy in Agriculture event attracting 1200 attendees in 2016 and 2500 attendees in 2017.
Orla joined the Agency in 2018 as the Communications and Project Coordinator. She is involved in all aspects of marketing including PR, social media, digital marketing, and the agency’s websites. Orla is responsible for coordinating all the training courses being ran by the Agency. She also works on all the European Projects that the Agency is involved in. Orla is currently completing an MSc in Climate Change: Policy, Media, and Society in Dublin City University.
Aileen has a wide range of Event Management, Project Coordination, Marketing and Client Relationship Management experience having worked in this field for over 20 years. Previous roles include Operations Manager and Conference & Events Management for Campus Life, University of Limerick, and Call Centre Manager for Momentum Marketing, Clonmel.
Since joining Tipperary Energy Agency in December 2014, Aileen has worked on Public Sector Programme Supports and Event Management (including organising the Annual Public Sector Energy Conference) on behalf of SEAI. She was also coordinator of 2 Better Energy Communities projects and a pilot Superhomes scheme in 2015. She currently acts as SEAI’s Group Sector Coordinator for the Local Authority and Health Sectors. She also plays a key role in planning and organising Energy in Agriculture each year.
Françoise has worked with the Agency since August 2004. As Office Manager Françoise deals with all administrative, HR , IT /Systems developments and financial and supporting functions of running the agency. Françoise previously managed the development of a web- based project management database for the agency . She is acting as the Secretariat for the Association of Irish Energy Agencies (AIEA). She previously worked in several Sales Administration and Customer Services roles for a range of industries both in Ireland and England. Françoise holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management studies and completed a Certificate in Domestic Sustainable Energy
Barbara has a wide range of administration and accounts assistant experience with over twenty years involvement in this area of employment. Previous work experience has included working as an Administrative Assistant in the International Recruitment Department for Kentz Engineers & Contractors, as Accounts Assistant for KK Vet & Hygiene and in a general administrative/PA role for Europlan Personnel Services Ltd.
After completing two JobBridge interships as an Accounts Assistant, Barbara joined Tipperary Energy Agency in June 2016 in an Administrative Assistant role. She is currently involved in the day to day accounts administration for the Agency and assists with general administration duties for various projects being undertaken by the Agency such as the Superhomes Scheme and the recent Energy in Agriculture event.
Heather joined the agency in February 2016. She has worked on many projects including SuperHomes. As Customer Service Administrator, she has supported over 150 successful Superhomes clients on their retrofit journey. Heather also manages applications for Tipperary Healthy Homes scheme which has had a hugely positive impact on the health and homes of 59 successful applicants. For the last 4 years, Heather has assisted Energy in Agriculture partners in the delivery of the annual event; acting as customer service for the brand, managing the indoor exhibition, driving sales, marketing and web administration. She also provides event/admin support to many SEAI events including SEAI Public Sector Conference & SEAI Energy Map Training Programme.
Stephanie joined the Agency in October 2018. She completed her undergraduate degree in Mary Immaculate College where she graduated with an honour’s degree in English and History. After a few years travelling the world, she returned to complete a postgrad in Event Management with PR. She went on to work with the biggest tech brands across the globe before returning to Tipperary to take on the role of Project Coordinator with Tipperary Energy Agency.
Máire joined the agency in August 2017 and is responsible for the co-ordination of the SEAI Communities Scheme. Prior to joining the Agency, she worked in the IT industry for 16 years, working on Implementation projects in the private sector across Europe, the Middle East and the US. Máire holds a B. Tech honours degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications from University of Limerick. She also earned a Master of Business from the Irish Management Institute / University College Cork.
An Accountant that is highly organised professional with a demonstrated successful history working in the non-profit sector, construction and engineering sectors. Keen interest in social enterprises. She has extensive management experience and has financially managed over 20 regional, national and international projects. People orientated, with a confident style leading to effective team building at all levels. Skill and qualifications in Business Management, Business Coaching and Operations Management.
David joined the SuperHomes team in 2017 as Retrofit Advisor. A graduate of the University of Limerick, David has 15 years’ experience in home energy retrofitting, low-energy construction and sustainable housing development. David is the main point of contact for SuperHomes applicants and coordinates the retrofit process until the works commence. His role includes initial home assessment, contractor engagement, grant application coordination and providing step-by-step support for successful applicants.
Over of 28 years of varied experience in building services engineering. The last 15 years of this have been in the renewable energy sector in Ireland with specific experience in design and project management of biomass and solar energy systems in both Residential and Commercial projects. Since joining the agency in 2017, Mike has been involved in Surveying, Design, Procurement, Project Management and Co-ordination of Grant funding processes.
Paul joined the SuperHomes team in January 2017. He has a Masters in Energy Management and an Honours Degree in Building Services Engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology and is an associate member of Engineers Ireland and a Licentiate of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers. He has previous experience in both the public and private sectors including carrying out Energy Audits/Surveys, data analysis for updating Display Energy Certificates as well as analyzing a Sustainable Energy Zone in County Clare. He was also involved with a new start up business for domestic retrofit upgrades; carrying out site surveys, making cost presentations and advising on the most cost effective methods of upgrades for homeowners.
Paul has also assisted homeowners in applying for Better Energy Homes grants and ensured jobs were complete to the Better Energy Homes Code of Practice and all External Wall Insulations were NSAI approved. He has also worked in the area of renewables with a Heat Pump and Underfloor Heating company, ensuring accurate heat loss calculations were carried out to ensure the heat pump was sized based on the actual heating demands in the dwelling and also ensuring new Builds met the Part L 2011 compliance. Paul is currently working on the Superhomes 2018 projects, processing applications and ensuring clients understand the works and the process involved in the Scheme to achieve A-Rated standards.
Shaun joined the SuperHomes team in January 2018. He has a first-class honours degree in Renewable Energy & Energy Management from the Institute of Technology Tralee and is a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology as well as the Institute of Domestic Heating & Environmental Engineers. He has previous experience working in the UK carrying out energy audits/surveys, on construction domestic energy assessments, building fabric upgrades, heat load calculations as well as the design, specification and certification of heat pump systems for domestic and light commercial properties. He also has experience in underfloor heating design and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Shaun is currently working on site surveying, design of upgrades, project management and procurement for the SuperHomes 2018 projects.
Sarah joined the SuperHomes team in October 2018. She has a BSc. Renewable Energy Systems and BSc. in Sustainable Energy Management from Limerick Institute of Technology.
She has previous experience in New Zealand working for a charitable trust carrying out energy audits on earthquake damaged homes undergoing repairs, helping people living in fuel poverty access grants to improve the energy efficiency and indoor air quality of their homes and working with local government and homeowners to reduce air pollution caused by domestic fireplaces by educating homeowners and helping them apply for government grants to install cleaner and more energy efficient heating systems.
She is currently working on site surveys, designing energy efficient upgrades and project management.
Anthony joined SuperHomes in August 2018. He has a Bachelor of Engineering in Sustainable Energy Engineering from Waterford Institute of Technology. Anthony has experience in both the Domestic & Commercial sector as well as in the mechanical & electrical (M&E) design of domestic developments which involved:
Mark joined SuperHomes in January 2019. He has a MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering & B.Eng in Building Services Engineering. He has 7 years building services industry experience having previously worked for an engineering consultancy in Kilkenny. His areas of expertise include building services energy efficient design, project management, building services/fabric condition audits and building regulations Part L compliance.
He has joined the SuperHomes Team to help with energy efficient design and project management.
