Lisa Vaughan
Lisa Vaughan graduated from NUI Galway with a Bachelor of Commerce and has a Masters in International Relations from Dublin City University. Prior to joining Tipperary Energy Agency, Lisa was a Director in Engineers Ireland and Divisional Manager in Enterprise Ireland. Lisa is a Chartered Director and is a Non-Executive Director of Bord Iascaigh Mhara since 2016.She is Chair of both the Audit and Risk committee and the Training and Development Committee of BIM. Lisa was Board Chair of Work Equal, a social enterprise working with women to support economic independence for five years until 2020.
John Hassett has 12 years’ experience in the building services industry. He has extensive experience in building services design and project management, building performance & the built environment, maintenance and compliance and building & plant modernisation. He also has considerable experience working in existing builds, upgrading existing building services systems to improve performance outcomes. John leads the building services and energy engineers in the Non-Residential team who provide detailed technical services to the non-residential and commercial sector for renovating and new build M&E services. He has completed projects in a broad range of industry sectors and has gained an in-depth knowledge of the regulated industry and associated standards.
John Hayes has 12 years building services industry experience. He started with the Agency in 2019, after returning from Perth Western Australia, where he spent 8 years working for a HVAC contractor as a Project Manager. John has extensive experience in design, value engineering and project management of HVAC systems for projects in the commercial, health care and education sectors. As a Senior Building Services Engineer within the non-residential team, he is involved in the design and delivery of M&E projects within the company.
Colm Ó hÁonghusa joined the Tipperary Energy Agency in October 2019. On graduating from UCD in 1975 with an honours degree in Civil Engineering, Colm worked in England, Canada and Ireland on engineering projects. He then had a twenty year career in capital markets finance. More recently, Colm has worked as an energy consultant in the domestic, SME and commercial sectors. Colm’s main responsibilities at the Agency are energy auditing and monitoring and reporting on local authority energy consumption. Colm is a chartered engineer, chartered accountant, certified energy manager and is also a qualified Certified Measurement & Verification Professional. He holds a MBA from TCD and a diploma in renewable energy from the University of Ulster. As a member of Engineers Ireland, he has volunteered with the Steps to Engineering initiative in National schools for many years.
Enda McGovern joined the agency in 2012 and holds a B.Eng. in Automation & Control and a B.Sc. in Sustainable Energy Management. The majority of his work with the agency is focused on energy efficiency in the area of Water and Waste Water Treatment. His responsibilities include Energy Auditing, Project Implementation, Project Performance Evaluation and Monitoring and Reporting.
A recent graduate of Loughborough University, UK where he studied a MSc in Low Energy Building Services Engineering, having initially studied a B.Tech (Ed) in Materials and Architectural Technology from the University of Limerick. Having just started with the Agency in June 2021, Billy has already gained an insight into lighting design, energy metering, energy auditing and biomass systems.
Aaron Doherty joined the agency in 2020 as an Energy Engineer. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Engineering in Energy Engineering from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. His areas of expertise include Solar PV feasibility studies, HVAC Design, Lighting Design, Energy Audits, Energy Monitoring & Targeting.
Eoghain joined Tipperary Energy Agency in March 2020. His responsibilities include mentoring communities and development of Energy Master Planning for communities in the region. Eoghain also conducts feasibility studies for renewable energy projects both on the community and commercial levels including Wind and Solar-PV energy feasibility & project design. He is experienced in conducting energy audits on a wide range of buildings from community buildings to hospitality and commercial buildings and activities including farm energy audits. Eoghain joined the agency with 20 years of professional industrial engineering experience having worked both at home and abroad during this time in the telecom and electronic manufacturing industries. Eoghain previously worked for an Irish Bio-energy start-up and was the lead R&D engineer in the development of a novel pre-treatment process for the biogas industry under EU horizon2020 and was also SEAI EXEED coordinator. This involved energy data monitoring, analysis & benchmarking, coordination with the SEAI. Eoghain is also experienced in project management and delivering renewable energy projects at scale. Eoghain holds an honours degree in electronic and electrical engineering from DKIT and more recently a BEng honours degree in sustainable energy engineering from CIT.
Dermot joined the Agency in 2021 as an Energy Engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Sustainable Energy Engineering from Waterford Institute of Technology. Dermot is an experienced Project Engineer having worked in large scale mechanical projects. He is currently involved in conducting commercial energy audits, feasibility studies for renewable energy projects, energy monitoring and reporting”
Catherine joined the Agency in May 2013 as the Marketing & Communications Manager. Catherine manages the agency’s busy events and training schedule. She is responsible for all aspects of marketing including PR, social media, digital marketing and the agency’s websites. Catherine also acts as the marketing manager for SuperHomes Ireland. SuperHomes is a groundbreaking project designed to being homes to an A BER rating. More recently, Catherine has worked with Tipperary County Council to organise the hugely successful Energy in Agriculture event attracting 1200 attendees in 2016 and 2500 attendees in 2017.
Orla joined the Agency in 2018 as the Communications and Project Coordinator. She is involved in all aspects of marketing including PR, social media, digital marketing, and the agency’s websites. Orla is responsible for coordinating all the training courses being ran by the Agency. She also works on all the European Projects that the Agency is involved in. Orla has recently completed an MSc in Climate Change: Policy, Media, and Society in Dublin City University.
Aileen has a wide range of Event Management, Project Coordination, Marketing and Client Relationship Management experience having worked in this field for over 20 years. Previous roles include Operations Manager and Conference & Events Management for Campus Life, University of Limerick, and Call Centre Manager for Momentum Marketing, Clonmel.
Since joining Tipperary Energy Agency in December 2014, Aileen has worked on Public Sector Programme Supports and Event Management (including organising the Annual Public Sector Energy Conference) on behalf of SEAI. She was also coordinator of 2 Better Energy Communities projects and a pilot Superhomes scheme in 2015. She currently acts as SEAI’s Group Sector Coordinator for the Local Authority and Health Sectors. She also plays a key role in planning and organising Energy in Agriculture each year.
