PV at Technological University of Shannon
This project involved the installation of 166 kWp of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the main building of the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) in Moylish, Limerick to provide clean renewable electricity and reduce the demand from the grid by 136,615 kWh annually. There is 370 solar photovoltaic (PV) panels installed on 7 roof sections of the main building. The total surface area is 8,000 square feet. All the panels are mounted on a 10 degree tilted ballast mounting framework. By Installing this renewable system on the building it will reduce up to 64 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
The role of Tipperary Energy Agency was from initial feasibility study, planning permission, preliminary design through to procurement, PSDP and project management. Tipperary Energy Agency worked closely with EnergieXPro (Contractor) and the Technological University of the Shannon to ensure the project was delivered to a very high standard.
