PowerEcom presented at Seminar hosted by South East Energy Agency (SEEA)

Renewable Energy generation took centre stage at a Kilkenny-based seminar hosted by the South East Energy Agency (SEEA). Researcher Jim Dooley attended the event, engaging with speakers from local municipal councils (Tipperary, Cork, and Carlow), the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), and the National Planning Framework. Advancing SDRI projects—including the European Commission–funded LIFE programmes LIFE in PLAN and Power ECom was a key theme of the day.

Discussions highlighted how municipal planning and volunteer engagement work hand-in-hand in developing national solutions. Local IN-PLAN and POWER-E-COM partners Daniel Robinson (TEA) and Gregg Allen (Community Power) lent support. Through a series of focused presentations and interactive discussions, sustainable energy community representatives gained valuable insights into how regions can streamline renewable energy deployment, balance environmental protection with infrastructure needs, and strengthen cross-sector collaboration.
