Building and Energy Services

Tipperary Energy Agency was one of the first consultancies to engage in energy management in Ireland. In 2015 we set up a dedicated building services design team to provide a one-stop shop for energy efficiency services, filling a recognised gap in Ireland’s energy services. Since then the team has grown in capacity and experience.

We now provide a range of building design and energy services to improve the energy performance of existing and new buildings, offering clients a truly turnkey energy efficiency service. Our building services result in healthier buildings and help businesses save money and energy.

Renewable Energy

Since the agency was founded in 1998 our engineers  have amassed extensive renewable energy project experience. The agency has supported Ireland’s first Community-Owned Wind Farm in Templederry, Tipperary.  We have also implemented numerous biomass renewable heat projects in Tipperary County Council’s buildings.  More recently, Tipperary Energy Agency has focussed on the design and introduction of heat pumps and solar photovoltaics as a method of eliminating fossil fuels in its facilities. Our Clients can be confident in the Renewable Energy experience of Tipperary Energy Agency through its turnkey service approach including initial Consultancy, Detailed Design, Public Procurement or Tendering, Project Management and Grant Coordination.

Community Energy

As a social enterprise, working on community energy projects across Ireland is an integral part of what we do. We support communities in shaping the energy transition. We spearheaded Ireland’s only community wind farm, Templederry Community Windfarm, and we continue to support Ireland’s only community renewable energy supplier, Community Power. As the policy and regulatory environment for micro-generators is changing rapidly, we are excellently placed to support more communities in becoming renewable energy generators that supply and sell power.

For over 20 years our building services team has worked on the energy upgrading and retrofitting of community centres, churches, schools and hospices. We have successfully helped access funding via various schemes including SEAI’s Better Energy Communities Scheme, the Department of Education’s Summer Works Scheme and the Sports Capital Scheme. We liaise with multiple grant bodies such as Leader, SEAI and Government departments to help communities access available supports.

As an independent, not-for-profit entity, communities trust our experienced building and design engineers to provide an impartial turnkey service that includes consultancy, detailed design, public procurement, tendering, project management and grant coordination.

Training and Education

Since the agency’s inception, Tipperary Energy Agency has organised events and delivered training for communities, SME’s, energy professionals and citizens across Ireland.  The agency has demonstrated our work to policy makers, industry representatives and the media. One of the ways we’ve achieved this is by organising Energy Tours where attendees can see first-hand our work, our impacts and our contribution to the Energy Transition in Tipperary.
